Couple Diamonds

Are Couple diamonds ‘real diamonds’?

Yes. Our diamonds are 100% real diamonds. They are organically grown in a lab and their chemical and atomic properties are the same as diamonds that come from the earth. The only way a trained gemologist can identify if a Couple diamond came from a lab versus a mine, is if they were given the unique identification number.

Mined v. lab-grown diamonds, what’s the difference?

Same rocks, different habitats. Mined diamonds are dug up from deep within the earth. Ours are grown in the exact same conditions, but in a cutting-edge lab based in the US. We optimized the growing conditions to produce an identical raw diamond in a shorter period.

Are lab-grown diamonds perfect?

No. And neither are mined diamonds. We’ve replicated the process that happens underground in our lab, so it creates unique raw stones with the same imperfections you’d find in naturally mined stones. Just as a mined diamond, our lab-grown diamonds come out as raw stones that need to then be cut and polished.

Why does the Couple Standard matter?

Little known fact—the entire diamond grading process is subjective. We found inconsistencies amongst the largest third-party diamond grading organizations. We decided to start with IGI grading scales but add another layer of meticulousness to ensure the best presence. Two diamonds that may look the same on paper could have a drastically different appearance in person—that's where Couple comes in to determine the best of the best.

Are Couple diamonds sold elsewhere?

Unlike online competitors, we are not a marketplace. We don’t let third party wholesalers list their diamonds on our site, and only Couple diamonds are sold on our site. We do this because we have strict standards for our diamond engagement rings. In order to offer the highest quality diamonds, we vertically integrated our entire business. It took a lot of work, but we think it’s 100% worth the effort.

How do I know which ring style and diamond size to choose?

We tightly curated our ring styles and diamond sizes so you literally cannot go wrong with any decisions. Our brief to our jeweler (who has 25 years of design experience) was to create rings that were timeless and stunning. That said, please don’t hesitate and reach out if you are still undecided. We have a few tricks and questions to guide you.

Does Couple offer Insurance on the ring?

We don’t currently offer insurance directly through Couple – check out our insurance guide here.

Where do Couple diamonds come from?

Our diamonds are grown in our partner lab in the US.

How can I get my ring appraised?

We suggest going to a local jeweler in your city. If you run into any issues with traditional appraisers (who aren’t familiar with or are threatened by lab-grown diamonds), contact us and we can guide you in the right direction.

Can I buy a setting or diamond individually?

Unfortunately not. We take great pride in the quality of our diamonds and craftsmanship of our settings and have curated a broad collection of rings and wedding bands to meet the style and preferences of our customers.

How is each diamond identified?

All Couple diamonds include a certificate of authenticity from the International Gemological Institute (IGI) with a matching identification number microscopically laser-inscribed on the thin perimeter of the diamond.

What if I want a diamond shape other than round?

Please connect with our diamond concierge. We are happy to provide another shape such as Oval, Pear and more.

Does Couple use rhodium-plated white gold?

We follow industry practice and use rhodium plating in order to give 18k white gold a pure white color.

What is an IGI Diamond Certificate?

The International Gemological Institute (IGI) is a leading third party diamond grading organization. Each IGI certificate is unique to your diamond and provides a diamond identification number that is laser-inscribed in your diamond.

Lifetime Warranty

We stand behind the quality and craftsmanship of our rings. If your Couple ring is damaged, a $50 deposit will be taken to cover the cost of shipping and an evaluation by our in-house jewelers. The deposit is refunded for all warrantied repairs or applied to approved repairs that are not covered under the lifetime warranty. If an uncovered repair is not approved, the deposit will be applied to the return shipping. If a warranty issue is found, we will gladly repair or replace the ring free of charge.

Orders & Shipping

What’s the status of my order?

All orders are provided with a tracking ID that can be found in your email receipt. Click here to enter your order number for updated shipping status.

Do I pay for shipping?

Shipping within the USA is free. For international customers, there are several shipping options.

Will I be charged tax?

Applicable taxes will be charged on international orders.

How do you ship your products?

We ship all orders via FEDEX overnight priority shipping. Every order is provided with an order tracking number.

When can I expect to receive my Couple ring?

We process all orders within 1 business day. Our goal is to have the ring arrive within 10-14 business days from when your order is placed.

Do I need to be present for the delivery?

Yes. Because of the value of the order, we require a signature for all orders.

Can I ship to my office?

Certainly. Many of our customers will order the ring to the office so the surprise isn’t at risk if it’s shipped to their shared home.

Do international taxes and duties apply?

Yes, your purchase will be subject to a country-specific assessment of duties and taxes.


Do you offer financing?

We offer financing on all of our products through our partners at Affirm, Inc. Make easy monthly payments over 3, 6, or 12 months, subject to credit check and approval. See for more details.

Returns & Exchanges

60 day returns + resizing

Take your time to get to know your Couple ring. If for any reason you aren’t satisfied, simply return it within 60 days for a resize, exchange or full refund. We’ll even cover the return 2-day shipping, to make things as simple as possible. When it comes to a life-long purchase like this one, everything should feel just right.

Free returns are available to all U.S. and Canada customers and is limited to 2 per customer. Engraved rings cannot be returned.

Return + Exchange process

To return or exchange your purchase:

  1. Call us at 1-888-490-4712 (US Toll-free) or 1-647-846-7375 (Canada)
  2. Within 2 business days, we will email you packing instructions and a pre-paid, fully-insured Fedex label.
  3. Take your Couple ring and label to the nearest Fedex location. They will have the necessary packaging materials for you.
  4. All refunds will be processed within 14 days and refunded to the original payment method.

Damaged items

All returned items must be undamaged and unchanged, in “new and unused condition.” We cannot accept any jewelry for return that shows signs of wear or alteration.

Improperly packaged items

Packages shipped beyond the 60 day return window or sent without a return authentication number will not be eligible for refund or exchange.

Do you have an upgrade policy?

We do not have an upgrade policy but each customer is eligible for a 10% discount on a second Couple purchase.
